The hay stalks are falling
Scythe swing to the land
A lay of gathering fodder
Twin prong lifting
Into stand points
facing towards a Sun.
I sit with her
Where the light dim
And the Thames whisper
Listen to the weariness of her living
Recognize her depth of sadness.
